Downtown Jam is just that – an amateur music club located in Toronto’s historic Distillery District: Downtown Jam was created by amateur musicians for amateur musicians of all levels.

Downtown Jam was created by Andrew Hall – an amateur musician born and raised in Toronto with a passion for jamming and playing music. Meeting fellow amateur musicians in Toronto unable to find a friendly place to play music and jam, Andrew recognized a need and in 1996 created Downtown Jam.

The club and its membership has grown to the point where it recently moved to its 3rd and largest facility yet; boasting 4,200 square feet including three lush and fully equipped music rehearsal studios in Toronto, spacious and complete with instruments ( guitars, drums, keyboards, bass, tambourines ) amplifiers & other music gear. The Hallmark – pun intended – of the club is its music library of over 500 easy to read and follow chord/lyric charts of jammable music covering the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s that would put most karaoke bars to shame.
As Andrew will tell you, “We supply the venue, music and instruments; all you have to bring is a desire to play music and have fun”.

You’ll find other musicians like yourself – at all levels of musicianship - that have a passion for playing music and/or singing in a fun, organized and non-judgmental environment; you’ll find CEO’s, Professionals, Cops, Politicians, Stay at home Mom’s, Salesmen and other white and blue collar people that at the end of the day, just want a place to plug in, play & sing great music with other amateur musicians. You’ll find a community of like-minded amateur musicians in the Greater Toronto Area that love to jam, meet, connect and network with other amateur players.
